One of the main reasons many people take up diving is to explore the Great Barrier Reef and it’s not hard to understand why. The easiest and most enjoyable way to see the reef is on a liveaboard boat where you’ll enjoy generous food between wondrous dives and then get rocked to sleep at night.
Dive Sites
Flynn Reef 0 - 20 metres
This is a very popular reef to dive with dive sites such as Tracy’s Bommie, Gordan’s Mooring, Tennis Court and Coral Gardens. These sites offer excellent wall dives, swim-throughs, overhangs and night diving. Expect to see an abundance of marine life such as large shovelnose rays, cuttlefish, whitetip sharks and turtles. There are plenty of hard corals - staghorn, table, and plate corals with many species of soft corals as well.
Millne Reef 5 - 30 metres
The Swimming Pools host resident turtles and White Tip Reef Sharks as well as schools of diagonally banded sweetlips and nudibranchs. On the night dives look out for parrot fish sleeping in their mucous sac’s, giant turtles sleeping under ledges, reef crabs and painted lobsters.
