BASIC 4 Dive Openwater Course
This course offers standard 4 ocean training dives (shore dives) and on completion you are a certified PADI Openwater Scuba Diver.

What you get: Internationally recognised Openwater Diving Certification.

Pro Dive's 6 Dive Openwater Course - 4 Ocean Dives (shore dives) 2 Pleasure Boat Dives
Starts with the Basic 4 Dive Program and completes with 2 additional pleasure dives.
On the last day of the course you will board Pro Dive's boat Sea Life 5 and do two boat dives. The value to you is the chance to dive from a boat while under supervision of one of our dive instructors. You have spent the previous 3 days learning what to do. Now its time to go diving.

Pro Dive's 9 Dive Openwater Course -
4 Ocean Training Dives (shore dives),
4 Pleasure Boat Dives and 1 Pleasure Night Shore Dive
You will follow the same schedule as the 4 Dive Course program, however once certified we make sure you get a variety of diving experiences including a very social night dive with BBQ and 4 boat dives to varying depths and durations. This program is designed to make you a more confident, self-sufficient and safer diver.

Before the first day of your course you will be required to complete home study. We ask that you contact the Pro Dive Manly or City to organise pick up the Openwater Manual and loan DVD and to attend a pre-course orientation.

What else you need to know

Fitness to Dive, please take time to check out our web page covering the Dive Medical Requirements and Fitness to Dive
All snorkel and scuba equipment will be provided
You need to bring sunscreen, swimmers and a towel
You will need to be able to swim 200 metres and tread water for 10 minutes
The minimum age is 12yrs and students under 18yrs of age will be required to provide signed parent or guardian consent. Children 12 - 14yrs will attain Junior Openwater Diver Certification.
Before the Openwater course commences you will need to come into our Dive Centre for a pre-course orientation and to pick up your PADI Manual and loan DVD (refundable deposit held). You will need to make an appointment please allow 20 to 30 minutes.
You will be required to read all the chapters in the manual, complete the knowledge review and quizzes at the end of each chapter as well as watch the DVD. The DVD should be returned on the first day of the course and you will get back your deposit.

Exclusions

Some medical conditions may prevent you from diving. For example: heart disease asthma, epilepsy or diabetes. If you are unsure of a particular medical condition, please check with us prior to reservation. Australian medical standards are different to those overseas. A medical obtained in another country will most likely NOT be valid in Australia. Please check out our Dive Medical information which covers Dive Medical Requirements and fitness to dive.
The minimum age to start this course is 12 yrs. Children under the age of 15 must be accompanied by a parent or adult over the age of 18. Children between 12 - 14 years of age will qualify as Junior Open Water Divers. They will be trained to dive to a depth of 12 metres and as a certified divers, their dive buddy must be a minimum certification level of Divemaster or their parent/guardian.

Terms and Conditions

General Conditions Apply to all courses.

All courses must be completed within 6 months from the date of payment. There are no refunds after 6 months, whether the course has begun or not!

Once you have commenced a course or program, and you are unable to complete the course for any reason,there is no refund on any portion of the program. When you cancel your booking or transfer starting dates, a $100 compensation fee applies.

However, if you transfer or cancel your booking within 7 days of the course beginning, there is no refund. If you are late on any of the course days, you will not be allowed to join the group and you will be subject to availability for the remainder of the programme, meaning, you will have to wait until there is a space opening for you. In the case of a failed dive medical, there will be no refund within 48 hours of the course beginning. If you do not present yourself on the day of the programme, there is no refund.

If you are choosing only the first weekend or portion of a course, the remainder of the programme will become subject to availability. If you do not complete your course for any reason, you also become subject to availability, meaning, you have to wait until there is a space opening for you. Pre- booking further dates is not possible!
